Frequently Asked Questions

You Asked, We Answered

What is a Home Watch service?

The official definition of Home Watch is “a visual inspection of a home or property, looking for obvious issues.” Designed to give you peace of mind while you’re away, your home is being inspected by professionals looking for potential problems. We will customize a checklist based on your individual needs and concerns. If a situation does arise, you will be notified immediately so the problem can be dealt with in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

So many things can happen to your home in your absence: break-ins, water leaks, electrical problems, insects, mold, and storms, you get the picture. Preventive measures such as storm preparation and proactive maintenance should prevent many situations from arising. An experienced professional acting on your behalf who knows how to handle any situation quickly and efficiently can save you money and give you peace of mind.

House Check Guys provides Home Watch, Pre- and Post-Storm Services, Concierge / Keyholder Services and Vacation Rental Services.

Storms – especially hurricanes – can be stressful, particularly when you’re hundreds of miles away and can’t get home. Contact us about our pre and post storm services to help keep your home secure and ease your mind. We’ll customize a storm plan with you before you leave, and House Check Guys will start preparations when a major storm has been forecast.

Security companies install and monitor a home’s alarm system, and notify you when the alarm goes off. That’s not what we do. We are the people you call after your alarm goes off. We will get to your home quickly to assess any immediate needs and secure your home once again. Additionally, having a visible presence in your unoccupied home may act as a deterrent against vandalism and squatters.

A home watch professional is not a house sitter or a pet sitter, does not stay in your home, and we do not provide care for pets.
